One of the most popular activities on Amelia Island, this two-hour cruise offers an extensive and rich history of Amelia and Cumberland Island, with views of wildlife seen along the way. From Fernandina’s shrimp boats, historic Old Towne and Ft. Clinch, to the wild horses of Cumberland Island and the ruins of the Carnegie Dungeoness Mansion and the Greyfield Inn, our historians will share the colorful stories that define the character of this unique part of the world. After the boat tour is over enjoy lunch with the group in downtown Fernandina compliments of our SO sponsor Condé Nast. Join us on a trip to the Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary whose mission is to provide a safe, loving, forever home for endangered big cats, and to educate the public about their plight in the wild and captivity. Their primary focus is in the rescue of cats from serious situations. Once an animal is taken in at Catty Shack Ranch, they have a loving, forever home for life. Our current residents include tigers, lions, cougars, leopards, bobcats, arctic foxes, and coatimundis (the last two are “honorary cats”). Meet in Hacker Arcade (Amelia Foyer) at 1:00 pm to take the shuttle to The Catty Shack Ranch.
